The term Day in this case is not limited to one literal 24-hour day. 54 The Day of the Saints will probably last several years before its purpose is complete. Although it will be a genuine restoration movement, this is more than an event that will take place among a few theologians or trendsetters in Christianity. 55 We aren’t just waiting on Him. He is waiting on us! Endnotes: 1. Daniel 7:18,27; Romans 8:17; Ephesians 1:18-20; 2:19. 2. Matthew 11:11. 3. Ephesians 1:17-19a. 4. John 5:19,30; 8:28; 14:12.
The Day of the Saints will not do away with the government and leadership structure of the Church, but it will cause a paradigm shift in the way Church leaders view the Saints. Instead of being preoccupied with our leadership titles, positions, and authority, we will become more Saints-oriented. Fivefold ministers were given for the Saints, not the Saints for the fivefold ministers. Too many pastors feel that God gave them the Saints in their congregation to make them successful and to pay tithes so the pastors can be supported in the ministry, build greater buildings, be on television, and take missions trips.
Members of the congregation are expected to participate where the ritual requires it and otherwise to listen to the minister as if they were attending a lecture. Other meetings are led by ministers who flow in various degrees of evangelism, prophecy, healing, and miracles, often with great fervor, excitement, and faith. When Christians in these churches find themselves drawn to the moving of the Spirit and feel an urge to participate, they often seek to go into “the ministry” themselves. All Saints Will Be Great Ministers: Jesus has more for His Church than just getting more and more people into professional pulpit ministry.
