I f you want to stay right on the sand, don’t choose a hotel in downtown Nassau; head for Cable B each or P aradise Island. Although y ou can easily reach the beach from a base in Nassau, it won’t be right outside your window. Near Nassau/Cable Beach are an array of watersports, golf, tennis, and plenty of duty-fr ee shops—not to mention those fine po wdery beaches. In addition, Paradise Island’s resorts, restaurants, and beaches (described in the next chapter), are just a short distance away. Paradise Island, which lies opposite N assau, is connected to N ew Providence Island b y a toll bridge.
