Most Brussels based trade associations and other interest groups have good relationships with those departments of the Commission with whom they need to work and are therefore generally consulted by Commission officials at a very early stage. The Commission with the Parliament maintains a directory of interest groups listing all the Brussels based non-profit-making lobbying organisations.
