The group-based approach also applies to other types of intolerance. The view would suggest that it is not merely competition for resources but rather our belonging to certain groups that divides us. " For example, Schwichtenberg (1989b) sees "feminism" as "a set of political practices exposing the patriarchal/capitalist subordination of women" (p. 291). She sees feminism as a suuggle to free women from existing for the desire of men. Women, as a group, must struggle for resources such as power over self-identification against the norms of a society.
