What we have tried to do on all issues is to give a fair hearing to those who do not always share our commitments. In this way we hope to have produced arguments which, in turn, will be given a fair hearing by animal experimenters, hunters, farmers and governmental decision-makers as well as those committed to significant improvements in the lives of the members of the animal realm.

They should not be interpreted as necessarily those of the organizations to which we belong.
