Weak and Electromagnetic Interactions in Nuclei: Proceedings of the International Symposium, Heidelberg, July 1–5, 1986

Nuclear physics is shortly experiencing a thrust in the direction of basic phy sics questions. Low-energy experiments assist in trying out past trendy stan dard versions of particle physics. the hunt for finite neutrino plenty and neutrino oscillations, for proton decay, infrequent and forbidden muon and pion de cays, for an electrical dipole second of the neutron denote a few of the efforts to check modern theories of grand unification (GUTs, SUSYs, Superstrings, .

Below, we introduce some of their recent progress in fabricating prototype tape conductor from Bi-2223. IGC continues to emphasize powder-in-tube processing in its efforts to make mono-core and multi-filamentary tapes [1,2]. Coils have been fabricated from 1m tapes and 10m tapes. 2K in self-field. Good short sample results are shown in Fig. l. These data are a convenient reference when discussing the state-of the-art in electrical performance. 1 1 Field (T) Fig. 1 Results from Short Samples of Monocore Bi~2223 Tape Made by IGC 23 10 24 continues its motor design studies while working with suppliers of prototype BSSCO based conductor [11,12,13].
